Givenchy's $995 USD tote takes on the humble shopping bag

Givenchy has now shown a series of totes that are inspired by shopping bags in a wide range of sizes and colors, after the launch of its Pre-Fall 2023 collection.

Givenchy’s version of the common shopping bag may be the most widely used of all the opulent versions (think about Balenciaga and Palace). That’s because, unlike the other premium Houses, this trio is constructed of a polyethylene material akin to IKEA’s FRAKTA rather than leather.

The only identifying item of luxury here is a leather Givenchy-branded tab on the interior, which is accompanied by nylon webbing handles and straps. However, Givenchy has labeled the exterior in its block-caps emblem for those who could mistake the bag for a simple shopping bag.

The Givenchy item costs $725 USD in the mini size and $995 USD in the XL size, you can view the selection online.
