What is RPET?

RPET stands for Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate, also known as Recycled Polyester. It is strong, water-resistant, color-fast, lightweight, wrinkle resistant, and of course, environmentally friendly.

You can basically make any bags with recycle polyester, just like the normal polyester fabrics.

Can I Have Recycled Polyester Printed?

The answer is YES!

Both silk screen printing and gravure printing are commonly used on RPET materials just like on normal fabrics.

Silk screen printing is the most common and cost-efficient printing technology. This technique is suitable for the positioned printing of single or multiple color logos in fixed (Pantone) colors. With screen printing, it is possible to print a rasterized logo, but it is not possible to print shades, gradients or photoprints. You can print to a max. coverage of 30 to 40% of the surface.

Gravure printing is also known by another name concave printing. A copper-plated shaft about 10 microns thick is used for printing. The content of a printout can be text, vectors or images. This content is deeply etched and is located under the surface of the gravure roller. Items printed this way are mostly in rolls.
